In today's fast-paced abbreviated world we find acronyms everywhere we go. Frequently, in the author's need for speed we are left behind (at least I am) with jumbled letters and frustration! If you think that big brother Webster will help, guess again. The majority of today's abbreviations can't be found in the dictionary. A lot of these are codes that were created to give exclusivity or connectiveness to a group of people in their everyday communication. NCLB is often used by teachers/educators but most of us don't recognize it unless we hear No Child Left Behind. If a closing agent said you'll be able to get your commission check after TTC wouldn't you want to know when that is? BTW (By The Way) it means "Time To Close financing and have the check clear".
For you parents out there thinking that your child is talking about business when they write POS (frequently referring to Point Of Sale or Point Of Service for merchandizing materials in sales) or you may think they are working on their English homework (Parts Of Speech) when they are really tipping their IM (Instant Message) counterpart not to send any provocative message because "Parent Over Shoulder"! I'm sure your little darling child wasn't going to do anything that you didn't approve of, right?
Okay, help is on the way! There is a website: http://www.stands4.com/ that will help you with most of your queries. You can even do searches under a particular industry. I'm sure there are a lot of you tech-savvy people out there that already knew about this (maybe some of you helped edit it) but it is my new friend as I try to navigate through #:-) and LOL (Shocked and Laughing Out Loud) and other seemingly meaningless keystrokes.
With Lucky, WYSIWYG! (What You See Is What You Get) I'm just a plain-speaking guy from Iowa trying to make a living helping people realize their dreams through home ownership.
For those of you that don't know the above acronyms and don't want to look them up, FSBO (For Sale By Owner) LTV (Loan To Value) OOC (Out Of Cash) and OMC (Owner May Carry) are the answers to my title question.
Do you know of any sites out there that can assist your fellow rainers? Please share!

Lucky :)
