Bhutto Assassinated?

Yahoo News is reporting that Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated today.  The TV news says she has only been wounded.  The story goes on to say that 20 others were killed by a suicide bomber after he had shot Bhutto in the neck and chest.

When will the violence end?

She has been assassinated and up to 40 people I heard have been killed. Her father was assassinated and a couple of brothers were killed too.

We are lucky to live in a great country as we do.

Fox News is running the story as well and Bush has been notified.  It does appear to be true.

Revised death total to 20.

That's the first thing I saw this morning when I turned on the news.  It seems that she was shot in the chest, neck and head.  The reports I heard say that the head wound is what killed her.

Someone on the Today show interviewed her recently.  When asked why she goes back to Pakistan and risks her life she said it's because she loves Pakistan.

Very sad indeed.

Not that it could be, but this is not good.  I am watching the coverage and there is chatter that Musharraf may have been behind it somehow.  It's too early for anything but specualtion of course but some sources say he wasn't involved as much as he was too powerless to have stopped it.  I cannot decide which would be worse.

It's horrible to see some assassinated period, let alone some one who might have truly made a difference in Pakistan.

Lucky, many here in the United States need to take note. Those people will stop at nothing, to push their message and wants on the rest of us. It is truly a war over there.
