Wow, this looks like a very nice home with a beautiful setting.  What schools would my children go to at this address?

Thank you.

Pete,

It is an awesome setting!  The schools would be the award-winning Blue Grass schools who always are ranked near the top in the country!

Let me know when you'd like to check into this further.

My contact info is above.

Thanks,

Lucky :)

Lucky, do you still have snow? I was thinking how hot was and then took a look at your listing...cooled right off!

Gena,

Actually, our last snow was on 4-12-07.  See my post about it.

I am going out to the property on Friday to get "fresher" pictures.

Thanks,

Lucky :)

Gena,

We had a snow in May back when I was growing up in Davenport Iowa.  I remember we put a snowball in the freezer but it dehydrated to nothing after a while.  I think it was 1970 or 1971.  Lucky might know.

Anyway, Davenport has four very definite seasons: rainy Springs, hot, hot summers, cool falls, and freezing winters.

Lucky's older brother.

Rob,

I remember mom wanting to throw the snowball away but we kept insisting to keep it until it was nothing but a little frost ball!

Lucky, great talking to you this morning. I have a fond memory of snow melting from my years as a teenager after a long day ski trip with my parents in Colorado. My mom was cooking dinner and my dad decided that it was time that I knew how much liquor I could hold...he and I polished off a Magnum of champagne. All nite long I would get up and gather piles of snow to place on the pot belly stove in order to melt it for drinking water...do you have any idea how long it takes to melt snow and how little water comes from a humongous amount of snow?

Gena,

I can only imagine how little it makes.  Usually a 10" snowfall equals about an inch of precipitation.

A magnum of champagne.......wow.........I'm impressed!  We'll have to see if you still have the gift when we come out to see you someday!

Lucky, you would be sadly disappointed. I never mastered that ability. 1 or 2 is about my limit but that was the lesson my Dad wanted to teach. He got his point across. As for the amount of water...a huge bucket full of fresh powder would produce about a small juice glass. Maybe, that's why I have such a fetish about water!

Gena,

Fetish?  Step on over to my couch and let's talk about that. :)

Gena,

Not everything.  Wish it were true!  I have had one beautiful property for sale since last year:

6855 Little Cabin Road, Bettendorf, Ia 52722

The better homes of Bettendorf, Iowa

6855 Little Cabin Road, Bettendorf, Iowa 52722

I've marketed the heck out of it, we've reduced the price several times, I keep posting about it, and still no offers!  The higher end in our market, which this is, is very slow.  There have been only 32 properties sold from $475,000 and up since the first of the year!  The majority of those were new construction.  There are currently 78 on the market in that price range now.  That equates to a 20 month inventory!!!  We are currently priced about $20,000 below what they paid for it new 2 years ago.  I know compared to other areas that have experienced rapid escalation in pricing that $20,000 of correction is nothing.  But here in the Quad Cities real estate market, we have almost always had a slow steady growth rate of about 5% per year.  The sellers have relocated to Colorado and we must sell their property!  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Lucky :)
